Picture-Word Task

In this task, you will see a picture with a word placed on top of it. At the start of each trial, a cue will tell you whether to pay attention to the picture or the word.

After that, you will see one test item. Your job is to decide whether that test item is related or unrelated to the part you were told to focus on.

How to respond

Use the buttons on the screen, or use the keyboard:

  • F = Related
  • J = Unrelated

Work as quickly and accurately as you can.

Before you begin

  • You will complete a short practice first.
  • The main task has 15 trials.
  • Please keep your eyes on the center of the screen.
  • At the end, you will see a summary of your performance.
